Crow End Cottages, Arrington Hill, c1918

Image: c1918, village scene. The original postcard is very dark, badly creased with some surface damage. Digital adjustments have been made to the brightness and contrast of the photograph and some repairs have been made to the right hand side of the image. Further restoration work is continuing.
Location: About 500m north of Arrington village at Arrington Hill on the west side of the A1198 (ex A14).

The postcard is postmarked Arrington 8 July 1919 and addressed to a Mr A Blows of George Lane, Royston. The photograph could have been taken some years earlier.

According to the 1901 census, there were eight dwellings (and 43 residents) in the row of cottages.
